They come in nearly infinite hues—from creamy whites and soft pinks to (almost) black, and everything in between.
Dahlia sizes range from tiny 2-inch lollipop-style pompoms to giant 15-inch “dinner plates.” Most varieties grow 4 to 5 feet tall.
One of my favorite Dahlia discoveries is that these flowers often become cozy homes for sweet little tree frogs. They nestle between the petals, staying cool and moist while feasting on nearby insects—a charming moment of nature’s sweetness for this artist!
